Advise on new struts (Score: 1, Normal)

Looking for advise regarding moderately priced struts for 96 LS.

My driving style with this car is somewhat "grandpa-like".

I have 185 K on the car and the Oregon potholes are getting to me.

Looking for best value.....nothing sooper-dooper special or spendy.

Well, the OEM Showa shocks are already $400+, which is getting pretty close to the price of a set of Koni yellows. My recommendation would be KYB GR-2/Excel-G for roughly half the price. I would stay away from the cheap stuff sold at Pep Boys et al.

I replaced the original shocks on my '90 Integra with Tokico "Blue" HP's.

I'd say the ride was a bit firmer and more controlled, and I liked them better than the OEM shocks.
