Not only the taillights, the hoff kink and the side crease above the door handle...

... err.... This is RLX...

So ... is it possible this is the RLX instead of the Accord?
Size wise it should be the accord but those low profile wheels are not typical for Honda.

doesn't the RLX come out in a year??? This has to be the RLX.

Geez, even Acura doesn't care enough about this car to disguise it. Flagship? Please.

If that is the RLX, it is bland as hell. I hope, for the sake of Acura, that we are looking at an Accord.

This won't be a popular statement, but even if you are looking at the RLX, you're still looking at an Accord. :(

^I'll cast my vote for RLX. Perhaps with the proper "jewelry" it will be stately enough ... for 2009.
I'll do some photo recon, but I might expect an update to the headline here.

I also think it looks more like the RLX... I think the new one is indeed supposed to be a 2013 model...

Damn... yeah it's definitely the RLX...
I got really excited because the rear does look really good. But those tail lights are a dead giveaway...
Personally, I like the RLX concept a lot. It wasn't necessarily daring or offensive, but it look pretty flag-ship to me.

The Civic sells just fine, so I am sure this will too.

Wish there was a front view. I'd like to see what they did to the "Jewel Eye" headlights... the way it appeared on the concept is definitely not for production.

I was also exited the accord could look like this.
I would have liked the looks and stance on 22k to 35k Accord.
My issue with the RLX as with many Acura cars, is that they are high end honda's and not true luxury brand.
A 50k price tag sounds ok for the flag ship of a Brand that wants to be what Acura says it is, but for me it is too much for a pimped Accord...

I like it. Looks more muscular, wider and with more road presence than the current RL.
People who would buy an Acura (RL) want luxury in a not too flashy package. I for one am in the target market for this car by income and would gladly get this over the more common 5 series, E, M or GS.

Disguise what? Everyone knows what it looks like already.

We can see it is a top trim level by the wheels. Top Accords have chrome door handles. My vote is RLX.

Yes the RLX concept was absolutely stunning. Very clean and tank like. Flagship. Especially when compared to the other flagships out there which are pretty ugly and boring...except the S class offcourse...the rest are bleh.

When I went to the NY auto show I commented on here the RLX would have hidden exhaust tips, since the bumper cut outs were cosmetic and I actually looked under the car and seen the two muffler tips pointing down. Looks like they carried through with the design even softened up the rear, why is Acura insisting on hiding the tips? I understand clean design and all but an integrated into the bumper dual exhaust tip would look more upscale and would go along with the added power of the SH-AWD trim, hopefully this is the base model.

The Legend/RL has always been an Accord, silly.
Dumb comment.

No it does not! They said 2013 at the show.

are we seriously having a discussion about this? just looking at the shape of the tail lights and greenhouse and comparing them to the rlx concept, how did the question of this being the new accord even come up?

I agree with those who say this is the RLX. I wouldn't be suprised if the Accord looks similar though, once uncovered.
When I think back, there have been a few times where I thought the Accord resembled Acura's top sedan.
'86 Accord/1G Legend, '90 Accord/ '91 Legen, '98 Accord/ '96 RL. I've even heard people say that the current Accord looks like the current RL, though I don't see many similarites with these two outside of the circular elements in the tail lights.
It's odd how the front fender hump disappears looking at the car from this angle.

And don't you think this is all by design? Current RL came out in 2005, look at the rear quarter of the then current Accord. There is a similar "5ish" character line to the rear fender.

Maybe they were referring to the silver car in front of the gas station as the Accord?

This is definitely the RLX. I'm surprised most of you haven't noticed the XM satellite radio antenna, which is the one that Acura uses. Take a look back at the Accord spy pics and you'll notice that the XM antenna is the same as the current Accord.

It amazes me how people can speculate on a camo clad model, with little to go off of, and then say this or that or how it doesn't do X, Y and Z. What exactly are you basing off of? Of course it doesn't look like much for a flagship in this form. It's not supposed to. Why give away the goods in a prototype? Let's wait and see more.
This probably is the RLX.....too many similar cues to the concept.
