Congratulations on a nice sports coupe.

I wonder on the service/maintenance side, would it be better to get the BRZ?

Hopefully Honda moves quickly to get a RWD sports car out. The Honda management has been lost.

PBH..........

Don't be such an ASS CLOWN......If you go to the Mens store and they don't have a Leather Sports coat, then you go to Nordstroms.......It's that simple, Honda doesn't have what DCR wants, I don't blame him and feel he is making the right move. I would do the same if I didn't have 2 kids..........He is not displaying any disloyalty rather maybe Honda is displaying the disloyalty to him.......and many others.........There is no reason Honda can't produce a car like this.

umm i said "great car and congrats"....didn't you read? If I was him I woulda got the same dam car....well maybe BRZ but same difference.

I dont think honda is showing disloyalty to people like dcr or anyone else...Honda is being Honda. An tiny efficient engineering company which is trying to stay in business and plan for the next 100 years. They don't plan for the next 10 years they go way ahead. If you plan for the next 10 your outta business on the 11th.

You wait in 50 years *well 38yrs* when Honda celebrates its Racing History and Heritage and the tribute S3000 comes out.

Then DCR and others like him will return!

btw your are very wrong when you say "no reason Honda can't build this" LOLOLOLOLOL

Honda does not have the cash to BLOW to make a car like this. PERIOD!

HOWWWWWW can Toyota... the biggest company in LIFE need to partner up with Fuji to make this???? Its simple its COST. Get your facts straight b4 u call me an ass clown. Honda can NOT produce a car like this and make good business model.

Certainly, he can post whatever he feels like (so long as the mods don't have an issue with it).

I'm simply expressing MY opinion: He drags most threads down with negativity. It's a bummer and it makes the forums worse.

Just enjoy your car (or don't) and stop whining. Contribute something to the forums every now and then. Many members bring stuff to the table in the form of anecdotes or expertise.

Owning a Honda isn't a ticket to bitching about the brand all day. I own two, whoop-dee-fucking-doo, so what? Most of us do too.

Call out Honda all you want on their mistakes or blunders, but stop beating a dead horse.

Yet, you keep beating the dead horse with this same old shit. What exactly do YOU bring to the forum? Back when there was some exciting things to talk about, I think many of us here contributed quite a bit actually.

Spearsoft, it's a little bit like real life here on TOV. Not everybody will always have the same point of view you might have. Sometimes, you just have to take away what you can from another person's point of view, and I seriously doubt that DCR and his wife would have purchased a 2012 CRV if he was totally done with Honda's.

If one didn't know better, one might think you have a Vendetta towards DCR.

Sorry, got to agree with Spearsoft.

My first post here, and DCR jump all over me, calling me a honda plant, followed every post I made, throwing insults at me for no apparent reason.

Is this what new forum members should be subjected to? I still can't figureout why DCR jumped all over me, insulting and attacking me from my very first post.

I honestly think it's because I said something positive about Honda, and DCR doesn't want anyone posting something positive here.

Just take what he has to say, run with it, or drop it and move on.

This is categorically untrue. That is just a BS line dealers fed to people in order to pump up the frenzy and justify the insane markups. When in Honda's history have they EVER made a unique model for just one year? Heck, I can't think of one mass market automaker who developed an all-new car and only sold it for one year. Only for the most exclusive of supercars is that done (think F40, F50, Enzo).

No, I don't have a vendetta against DCR. We've had much worse on these forums from lexugs to the annoying honda fanboy that got banned (I forget his name) for annoying the shit out of everyone.

My main problem is the negativity not just towards any honda-related news, but other members.

And to answer his question, the reason I don't post often is because I have little to contribute and vice versa. See how that works? Nowadays between school and fulltime work I find little time to reply to every single post on the forums.

I'll leave you with this suggestion: take a chill pill and quit jumping down people's throats for the most minor (if any) provocation. Any validity your rants and complaints may have are kinda lost in the name-calling and cynicism.

Easily make a car to compete/better the FRS/BRZ? Really? Its that easy?

You can't say they are focusing on hybrids when their hybrids are not very good the Insight, CR-V and now ILX are average at best behind Ford, Toyota, Hyundai etc. So its not like all that engineering went into world class hybrids.

Then to say they wasted money on the ZDX is funny b/c people said "well the ZDX was close to the MDX so no money was spent".

So which is it? The fact is Honda has clearly ignored this market that Hyundai, Nissan and now Toyota are in. RWD sports cars.

There will be no reversal of the "glory days". The competition now all offers sports/sporty cars, RWD, turbos, V-8s, hybrids etc. I mean a Mustang V-6 gets 310hp or so and 31MPG on the highway.

Honda still is very profitable and maybe that is now all they care about. So if you want to be a Honda enthusiast, own some stock. :)

Remember the S2k was supposed to be a 1 year thing. But to help recover the massive losses they extended and extended and extended its life.

PBH..........

LMAO...........

1st, sure, I will give you that you said "Congratz" but what ever complement you tossed, you erased it with the other unkind words you used. There is a difference in when DCR expresses his disappointment with Honda. So what you did was basically back hand your bitch, insult her and then give her a kiss and say you loved her..........then as the PoPo has you cuffed and is carting you to the Crown Vic......You say......But I told her I loved her.......forgetting everything else you did.......

2nd, Honda COULD build this car, they just don't want to. It's not who they are right now.

3rd, This Scion/Subie is no feat of engineering..........Toyota didn't need Subaru to partner with them because of cost, if anything Subaru needed Toyota AS THEY SHARE PLANTS IN INDY to cut cost............this is a car that is not rocket science, it's really not a special car in the sense of a S2000 or something like that, don't get me wrong, it's hot as hell, but because it's a front engine rear drive coupe......that has a fun factor of 20 on a 1-10 scale..........but it didn't take that much R&D........

4th, If Honda focused on a car like this over the FCX, nobody would be aboe to keep up with them, but that is not who they are..........at least not now...........

As I said before, they could easily build a car to compete/better the BRZ/FRS, but they choose not to and instead foucs on hybrids/EV/etc. That is what makes it so vexing. If only they used the money wasted on the ZDX for a BRZ/FRS competitor instead...

Yes, Honda could easily make a car to compete. They could integrate one from a lot of their existing parts bin, so development would not be too far fetched.

They are focused on hybrids, I did not say they were successful at it (several models and future models will be hybrid, i.e. RLX, NSX, Accord, etc., sure sounds focused to me)

They did spend money on the ZDX, I have never said it was free. The development cost was mostly incremental, since its platform/drivetrain is not unique, so it wasn't as much as if they started from scratch.

So do I have to own stock in every product I am an enthusiast about? Is that the new qualifier? Well I guess I need to go buy Pepsi stock, since I am enthusiastic about Mountain Dew? NOT! I buy their damn products, so yes, my money goes where I am interested and the product meets my need. They stop making products that meet my need/interests, it will go to someone else.

This thread has become another cesspool.

1. OP, congratulations on using your money to buy a car you enjoy.

2. Personally, I give Honda consideration anytime I buy a car, but I don't feel guilty about not buying one if their products don't fulfill my needs at the time. The story might be different if I worked for them, an affiliated company or lived in Marysville, Ohio.

3. Honda needs to come out with a car to compete against this and they will. While it will be FWD, there's no reason they can't have a nice Prelude or Integra that would compete against the Toyobaru. Only problem is that Honda should be leading instead of following in that segment.

ZDX cost very little to make...it was free because it was a scam basically. Scam mdx.

Anyways, Honda said if they had spare cash they would build a sports car. But they don't. All money was spent and still is now on NSX development as it should be.

Go NSX Go!

Honda is profitable but they need that profit to make the next civic/accord/piolot blah lbah lbah. No room for rwd sports car especially now with NSX BACK! AND SUCKING UP ALL THE CASH FASTER then an NSX on a track!

Also, The WASTED cash on the first couple NSX canT be saved some-wat...BUT

Honda HSV FR platform should be and I believe will be used to make a new CLX luxury FR coupe to fight G37 and 335i. So I guess the first couple NSX were wasted but the 3rd one HSV can be used...and the 4th one is still 3 yrs down the road but will probably rape any car on any track anywhere. SH-SH-AWD FTMFW.

Very well...........They are all making fun of me because they all got to see it and sit in it and knew I couldn't get over there and I was the one who kept telling everyone "Text me when it gets there" so I was getting text and I couldn't get there.......and it was 400 feet away......LOL! IT WAS KILLING ME!......

But the next one is coming soon, I have a customer wanting one, but won't put a deposit on it till he drives it..........I told him he isn't going to get one........put the deposit on it and if you don't like it, then we will give you your money back..........So he is thinking about that.........I can't even get credit for the sale because I am not a Certified Scion sales person.........but I don't care, I want my customer to be happy.....
