Easy Way to Have Amber Turn Signals? (Score: 1, Normal)

Something came across my mind yesterday. Would it be possible to have rear amber turn signals on the Pilot by simply drilling another hole in the reverse light area. If I measure out the socket size are make the correct size hole, I should be able to simply take the clear bulb that is used for the signals, replace it with an amber one, and stick it in the reverse light reflector. As for the 5W taillight, I guess I could separate the wires and buy a small 168 bulb.

That would not work very well. The location of the bulb in relation to the reflector is critical in determining the needed light output. What you are suggesting would create a poor turn signal, and probably screw up the back up light output.

Not sure I would like amber? That seems kinda retro looking for a Pilot.

yellow bulbs in stock position. or even come up with a custom led set up that lights up in the direction of the turn. much cleaner and more space to work with.
