Sorry, but this is an idiotic topic. A Camry V6 kills both cars. What's your/the point?
Neither car is made for drag racing. It completely defeats the intended purpose.
I would really love to see a handling test between the two. The S never was the greatest around a track due to its torque deficiency, but it has very high limits and is extremely fun.

The point!?!?
Does the Camry V6 have a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine?
Apples to apples...
The French wish they could still buy NEW S2000 today instead of a BRZ.

Well, the S2000 was built to a much higher price point... has an extra 40 hp due to variable valve lift...

BRZ also gets superior fuel economy! 2 liter 4 cylinders...

Yeah, a Camry V6 'kills' both.
WTF?

It had better given the near $10,000 and 40HP difference....

I understand the point you're trying to make but as I recall the best 1/4 mile test results for the S2000 ranged from 13.8-14.2 @99-101mph. A 2012 Camry V6 SE tested by Car and Driver ran a 14.3@101.

I got hit by a Ford truck last week...........and I was coming from my Scion store which is the sister car to the BRZ.......and Honda sold the S2000, does that have anything to with the price of apples in Washington state............They don't make the S2000 anymore as we all know and miss...........And I really did get hit by a truck crossing the street.........

Hope you're alright... you're posting this so you seem alright.. maybe you should ride to the hospital in a 2012 Civic to get check up.

Which is pretty amazing in itself.
1970 Chevelle LS6
1/4 mile, sec. @ mph: 13.7 @ 103

The S2000 is a true sports car with a bit of luxury added and the BRZ is a sports GT. The 1/4-mile isn't a consideration for either for a sports car fan.

I would imagine there are many cars no longer produced that would "kill" the BRZ. Or does Honda have some secret Fantasy Factory still building the S2000?

I put two people in the back seats of an S2000. I'm being prosecuted as a result.
It it April 1 or what?
I know it's a slow news decade on ToV, but FFS!

Neal,
My secret fantasy factory would produce a street legal HSV-010 aka RLC/Legend Coupe :)
I'd love to see your current vision for this potentially legendary car?

Yet more irrelevant statistics - I'm surprised that it comes from you! How many 1/4 mile runs do you do on your commute to work?
Jeff, I don't drop the clutch on my S2000. I believe you also own an S2000, and I also doubt that you dump the clutch on yours. I'm sure you've "lined up" against more than a few 'family cars' at red lights. You know just as well as I do that you have to wring the crap out of the F20C to keep pace against an aggressive driver.
5-60 time of an S2000 is high 6's. Not fast. My 7th gen Accord V6 6MT will stomp my S2000 in a straight line, all day long, unless I want to replace my clutch every 30k miles and worry about my diff grenading itself.

Sorry, I forgot I should dump the clutch at 6k to beat a Camry. I'd really live up to my license plate - WHTRICE.

Look, in the Camry... if you turn the BASS all the way UP, and the TREBLE all the way UP, and the VOLUME all the way UP and you play some BUMP, BUMP, BUMP rapper music...
The Camry has a much louder stereo than the S2K.
Dig?
Does it have a subwoofer too? If so, turn it all the way UP too.

Enjoy your V6 sedan. BTW, may be it's time for you to trade fro a 2012 Toyota Camry V6, if drag racing at red light is the only time you enjoy driving....

Be thankful you did not get hit by an S2000 or Camry, according to this thread, they would have "Killed" you. LOL
But seriously, all of this reminds me of a common perception mistake in regards to sport cars. It's not always about 0-60 or quarter mile times. Lots of legendary sports cars are remembered for the "mystique" they provided.
In regards to recent Honda vehicules, the S2000 shocked the world with an NA output of 120HP/L.
To up the ante, the Civic Type R with it's K20 (that provided a similar output) front wheel drive powertrain beat that S2000 on the track.
That is mystique.
Magazine numbers are just a reference point. Nothing more.
Now if the CRZ 300GT can win some races, Honda might have an opportunity to produce a mystical performance hybrid car. Why do I mention the CRZ instead of the NSX 2.0? Honda needs mystique ASAP and the next CRZ should me more accessible, hence a larger fan base.
As y'all know, I would love to see a limited production HSV-010, this car wreaks of mystique.

You got that right :) Only been spotted on the road with camo on, then appearing in race form through a loop hole? What a mischievous car.
Keep the side radiators. Keep the sound. Make it RWD and give it a smaller engine than the V10 for a lower hood (the nurburgring mule looked a bit nose heavy). It won't matter to me how murderous it is...
Would be nice if it can kill the Mustangs, Genesi, and 86s though :>

As a reference point to compare the HSV-010 with the cars you mentioned, here are some estimated numbers:
0-60: 2.7
1/4: 11.0

Plus, the S2000 looks better even these some 13 years later. Guy at work just got a nice used Red S2000. Still looks fantastic.
