Yeah, I remember that V10 but the sounds produced by the HR10EG are insane. To my ears, it's like comparing the K24 with the K20 :)
Don't get me wrong, that V10 was an amazing Honda engine and I understand that the HR10EG is tuned for racing.

They did say that they've tuned it for its sound, too, since they had easly acheaved regulated 500ps(?)

Indeed, a restritor plate is required to decrease the HR10EG's power to 500hp. Honda are being gentlemen in giving Toyota and Nissan an opportunity to compete with the HSV-010! Classic!
Ahh this reminds me of the good old F1 days when Honda/McLaren and Senna/Prost were dominating the rest of the field. Great memories from the Montreal Grand Prix that I use to attend on a yearly basis. I recall telling my parents F1 was not a "race", just being a circus, because Honda was so dominant!

On top of that, a while back there was a even a quote that the engineers spent time tuning the exhaust note. LOL. It's like they were going, ok we have detuned it so others can catch up what else is there to do, I know, let's tweak the sound from the exhaust until it's perfct

Apparently they also found a better exhaust set up that would give the engine a better output... but the sound became worse so they didn't end up using it.. hah
|
