Our TSX Wagon is a natural born Japanese citizen, coming in with a green card to Southern California.

Currently it is in transit somewhere over the Pacific. It gets air sick and prefers to keep its tires planted firmly on the ground. As we found out lately, its american cousin did not like it either and being launched airborne at a curb broke her heart. :-P

Anyo, TSX-San's papers will be processed in Torrance and then we'll take him home to Orange County.

Hmm.. sounds like I got a name for him. No TSX-ko for him... no, it's a BOY.. TSX-San.

Now, we hear that our Civic might be born sometime in June.. we'll see. We're not quite sure if it'll be a boy or a girl.. however with that serious metal metallic look, AT5 and NAVI, I suspect it's be well behaved, intelligent American boy.

Woohoo.. I'm actually excited. ;-D

If you're not dead set on the name, how about "Tsuara"-kun (Tourer-kun). I believe that's a common name among his Japanese relatives, but rather unique in South Cal :)

May he live a long healthy life with the family. I apologise for not being able to celebrate the occasion with cards and gifts, but at least accept my sentiment.

Hmm... neat name. the pronunciation of 'Tsu' is indeed exotic.. perfect to go get a "haamboogah" at "MaacDonaru".. So Engrish.

I wonder how Eric Crapton will sound on its ELS system... Hopefully not too Crappy?

We will accept the typically overpriced, wrapped over the top, little box of crackers anytime. We'll break out the good tea for you (OK.. just go for the sochu instead!).

Ha ha, well, I'll let the initial name to your free discretion, but you should definitely call it either -chan, or -kun (kun is usually preferred for boys, chan for girls).

-san is how you call a friend/colleague, but definitely not one of your kids or close family. By calling him -san you'd be putting some serious distance between yourselves, and you sure wouldn't want to hurt his feelings like that !!!

Personally, I'd go for something more intimate like an abreviation of "tsuura-chan" into "tsucchan" (it reads like "tsuchan" but making a pause between tsu and chan). But again, if you feel about it as being more masculine than cute, Tsuura-kun may be your best shot ! Or in TSX form, T-kun !

PS- I wonder how the Japanese pronounce "paella"... I figure "fricando" would be easy: "FreeKaahndo", but "alioli" probably throws them into gluttural histrionics. ;-)

Since we're talking about this -chan thing, I would like to point out chan in my username is actually my surname and when I sign up did not know about this, I later knew and don't kno why I chose to use the '-'. Fish is also my name but more sounds like than actual meaning...

Tony, Being that you live in SoCal and not the Pacific NW, I am sure that the wiper blades 'WILL NOT' wear out within one year of ownership... So you may have to keep the car for a 'least' 2 years before looking at anything else.

One year leases from now on. Terms changed... and we can lease two cars at a time.

Let the good times roll....

I may not even have to do a brake job.

My S2000 - I took delivery in October of '99. I'm still on the first set of wiper blades.

My Civic Si - when I traded it in, it was 4.25 years old - still on the first set of wiper blades and they performed perfectly. Your Fit and Civic Hybrid aren't that old are they? Are the atmospheric conditions in So. Cal. that caustic?

The Fit's in Washington State, so with the wear and tear and snow and ice you have to change them at least once a year. We replaced them twice before he took it there (once after two years, and another time just before he drove it up there) and yet once more in the middle of last summer when the ice hit and he didn't know NOT to run them until the defrosters had a chance to clean the windshield.

The Civic is an '06 so you can figure we're on our 3rd, likely we'll replace them soon again. Matter of maintenance. I'm a stickler for that.

SoCal is not that bad... we live almost right by the Coast, 92603, in The OC so we don't have smog or real extreme weather. Nonetheless it's dry weather and we don't use them often so they do dry out after a while.

The order for a metal metallic Civic Si NAVI sedan has been accepted!!!

There were three available last tuesday and more coming... not many red/black ones, which is why my wife decided not to risk it and get the car (we sorely need another car)..

We may get our VIN pretty fast.

Oh well I can always wear a red Honda hat... I think I got a red Honda "Wing" hat. And likely less tickets in that color.

We should get our TSX very soon.. we better... we started paying insurance on it today.

None are available coming off lease. I think people are buying them when the lease is over.

We can get a '12 right now and being a one year lease we can sit tight on it and see what happens next year.

Besides, this car will be a daily commuter and I think that the 2.4 is the better engine for that. We don't need/want a racer, just a fun car with plenty of power and comfort. My wife's biggest thing about her commute is having a car with which she can change lanes NOW.. and for that you need something that can accelerate... and the added torque and MT are much better for that.

As I've noted before, the 2.4 Si is perfect for that commuter role. The torque curve helps it EXPLODE thru gaps in traffic. Not that the K20Z Si is a slouch in that respect but the K24 Si spots you at least a gear.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I feel like we're gonna have twins.

Just got informed we got a VIN match.

Our Civic Si is a Canuck, born on April 27th North of the Border.

As such, he's a nice metallic gray color... nothing too colorful for our neighbors.

So now we get to handle two cars with green cards.. actually.. all of our four cars have green cards... three from Japan and one from Canadia.

Hmmm.. what do you call a canadian car?

Pete?
John?

I expect our Si will love to go see the Ducks at the Honda Pond in Anaheim while TSX-San will prefer to go to Marukai were we can load him up with fine japanese food.

I guess we'll have to wait for the TSX next week. It was supposed to be at the dealer already and all they got to do is prep it, but so far no call.. and if they call tomorrow my wife is carpooling (not driving) so the loaner Crosstour will be with me, not with her.
