Latest from Honda, the EB10000; 10k watts of power...electric start, V-twin air-cooled engine, 8.2 gallon tank, 6.5 hours of run time, when you absolutely, positively must have the biggest portable generator...

What happened to the bigger EB 11000, is the new one its replacement??
Is the new one safe to use on computers and chargers for cordless drills?

The EB110000 was discontinued a few years ago. We have two of 'em on carts in the shop in case the power goes out here.
The new EB10000 is fine for most equipment, but the EU-series models are best for use with sensitive electronics. The EU-series generators feature inverter technology to make power. The alternator on an EU-series generator makes high voltage AC, and this is converted to DC. Now think about those power inverters used to convert 12v DC in your car to 120V AC. The DC output of the generator is inverted back to AC, and the result is really, REALLY clean power.
Also, the engine on an EU-series unit can run at any speed to match the load. This means quiet operation and less fuel consumption. Most other generators must spin W.O.T. at 3,600 rpm to make the 60 Hz power used in the USA.
