I don't understand why they wouldn't offer a Tech package with the 2.4 6MT. It really makes no sense to me. I am a tech person and I want the fun of the 6MT and I want the toys. Who doesn't want the toys? Even if you don't want Navigation. Certainly you want Pandora and SMS text messaging. Right?

ummmm....
The 2.4l 6MT has Pandora and SMS...
even the base has it.
Did you even read Jeffs article!
-dual zone climate control,
-a powerful audio system (with Bluetooth, Pandora, SMS text messaging interface, USB/iPod interface),
-power moonroof *1500 dollar option on most cars
-auto up/down windows for both driver and passenger side front windows,
-remote operation of windows and moonroof for "quick vent" of a broiling interior,
-keyless access with pushbutton start,
-Homelink&TM;,
-standard i-MID display,
-projector beam headlights,
-heated exterior mirrors with auto tilt-down while reversing.
Alot of standard on the base model.

Funny...I just did an Autotrader.com on used 2006+ civic SI coupe and none had a navi. Maybe Honda knew what they were doing?

actually the reason for that is not honda knew what they were doing.
It was well known knowledge especially here on ToV that Honda had HUGE NAVI supply issues. Since all their models shared the same dated slow, low resolution unit.

....and that Honda really didn't see the in-car tech wave as something they wanted to deal with here in the US mostly because Am Honda is run by near-geriatrics. Then, they were forced to by competition (Ford and Hyundai).

You know… there is a reason why the Hybrid is available with the tech package… (and yes, I agree with you, those that want tech under the Hood want tech in the cabin as well, except that the K24 isn't precisely "the thechiest thing under the hood"...)

To take the sting off the $35,000 price tag a little? To take their mind off the fact they pack 110 screaming horses under the bonnet? A couple of reasons there.
Is the IMA system that harkens back to 1999 the "techiest" thing under the hood, perchance?
