Aacch! We got a Crosstour as a loaner until our TSX Wagon Tech order is fullfilled.

That's OK :) CT is actually some kind of a status symbol here in Chino Hills because most owners are the rich ones having acres of ranch/horse properties.

Interesting, I'd rather be seen driving a Crosstour than a TSX station wagon.

To each his own I guess. I'm actually very interested in new Crosstour. What's the new V6 and transmission, what will the specs be...

I, OTOH, much like the TSX wagon and how it's trimmed. Much more elegant than the CT.

I sort of wish I could have gotten an SH-AWD K24 MT6 Wagon.. which, of course, they don't make.

We didn't get it.. it'll be today. We could not turn in the rental on time last friday.

Anyhow, my daughter and I _might_ have successfully avoided this... we both argued for the Pilot and my wife mumbled something about changing the selection.

We much prefer the Pilot.. specially if this turns out to be a long loan.

I'll let you know.

Tony, will you be putting many miles on it? I imagine the TSX wagon will get much better gas mileage than the Pilot.

Tony I'm pretty sure you'd prefer the driving experience of the crosstour over the Pilot. The Pilot is HEAVY

Jeff.. you are correct. However, it is also pretty damn ugly. And since I will be the one driving it and parking it in front of my house, I do have to think about what it will do to my reputation.

I mean, I had no issues driving the Fit to the Philharmonic and parking it alongside those nice Bimmers, Benzes and Jags... I mean I've worn Hawaiian shirts (Rayn Spooner of course) to Saturday Night concerts....

But, what will I tell my neighbors? Several of whom are dedicated car guys, who understand a Fit, Odyssey even a Civic Hybrid... who will hold me up as a God for the TSX Wagon... but who for sure will forever hold me in contempt for a Crosstour.

It's very a fine line between being a successful fashion rebel and committing a faux pas. IMHO, the CT pushes past that line in a way that a Reyn Spooner will never do.

Sometimes, just SOME times, you have to think about your social reputation.

It depends on how long we have it.

Mostly it will be me and my daughter driving around town it so figure at most one tank a week. Likely just half a tank. So, gas should not be an issue.

If the loan lasts long enough we plan to drive to the Puget Sound in August.. so that will be a 2800 mile road trip.

yes the crosstour is pretty quick and handles almost as well as a regular accord. It is indeed comfy and has some nice features. But yeah, the styling... That can be a problem. Some people LOVE it though.

I was supposed to have it today... wife took it instead... damn the mileage.. I think she thinks it's her new toy.

Maybe tomorrow...

I told you you'd like it. Rearward visibility sort of sucks but it is comfy, fairly nimble, and it possesses suprising passing power on the freeway. Fuel economy's not too bad either (probably uses about 25% less gas "real world" than the leaden Pilot you were considering). By the way, if looks are what worried you, I think you may have a push with the Crosstour. The Pilot is far from a stunner.
