The wheels look very similar to the 2004 TL wheels. I thought they just might be the same wheels but wouldn't the bolt pattern be different?

That is the first thing I noticed too. I do love the previous TL wheel design. I wouldn't mind if they re-use it for the new MDX - just make them bigger 'coz it's too small for the SUV.

AFAIK all Honda / Acura 5 bolt patterns are the same... so theoretically they'd all fit....

I think the RL uses a different bolt pattern but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, the RL and MDX and TL now use 5x120

I've seen a supposed spy shot of the MDX with TL Type-S wheels. It was quite a while ago...

May be Acura is planning 2 versions of MDX. One with normal suspension tuning may be with/without FWD config and other with aggressive suspension setup and SHAWD.

Hope they don't do any handling/hard cornering testing with those wheels because they are soft. The reason I'm changing those wheels on my 2006 TL (although I love how they look on it and would never change them otherwise) is because when I got my TL on a lift (had about 80k on it at the time) and spun the wheels, they were ALL bent / wobbling, some a little less than others, but all pretty bad. I thought the harsh vibration at speed came from my tires but I found out it was not only them. I am very careful with curbs and there are no curb marks on those wheels. So without even hitting them, they ended up warped/bent. I will admit I've done plenty of hard cornering over uneven surfaces that could of given them a LOT of stress, but nevertheless, I've heard I'm not the only one with this problem. I've heard the Type-S wheels are even worse. I can only imagine what that 4000 pound SUV is doing to those wheels...

About the bold pattern, that is very strange. Then again, this is a test mule so it could possibly have different hubs (possibly from the TL as well?) with the correct bolt pattern for those wheels.

Another thing I do notice is that those are from the 2006 model year TL, as they have TPMS. You could tell by the large flat spots around the valve stemb, my guess is that it's for balancing (chunk of the rim missing to compensate for the extra weight of the TPMS sensor).

anybody know about the A-Spec 18" accessory wheels for the TL? Trouble is I want to remain with factory wheels for many reasons...cost, tpms, hubcentric, offsets, look, ect...however, if all of those Honda / Acura wheels that look decent have a problem like this, I start thinking about forged wheels, and if they are forged wheels, I start thinking RAYS, and that's $1000+ per wheel and I don't even know if I'll find one that I like on the TL...not that I'm really considering paying 5g for the wheels.
