As expected, and not bad across the board, though highlighting the HCHs performance just draw attention to the fact that the total number of hybrid Hondas sold fell from 4500 odd to 1800. Not so good.
In Canada Hyundai/Kia outsold General Motors!!

If Acura can produce enough of them I could see sales of 3000 a month by this fall. Its a really good package/value and the more steam it picks up the better the lease values will get.

It wouldn't surprise me to see acura selling more than 4000 RDX's a month at some point.

The only think I can't understand is how come it does NOT have HID headlamps as standard, it comes only with the Tech package. Must be the bean counters again.

Do you think they can make that many? Especially since the CR-V also hitting on all cylinders.
Karl80, the HID thing is a little annoying, but remember that the 1G MDX sold with halogens for 6 years and it was still sold well at higher price points. I can only assume that some people don't care as much as we do.

While the new RDX may off to a good start, I suspect that those hot sales on the old RDX is responsible for the jump. Only 3 were delivered in April to the local Acura dealer, but several more 2012's were on hand with big red tags. Fingers crossed for the new one.

I think next month and subsequent months will show us better picture. But, I think RDX is very much on its way to take the 2nd spot in the segment behind only RX350.

A lot of ze Germans charge extra for xenons still.
Part of the premium fools-from-their-money thang, I suppose.
Still, the upshot is, it proves that if Acura CBA to design a decent car/cuv & package it correctly, they will sell like hot cakes.

I can see the RDX becoming Acura's best selling model. It's really that good of a package.

I havent driven the RDX but at worst it can only be a CRV with a lot more power. Thus, at worst, it would still be an excellent vehicle. I agree, it should be a very bright spot on Acura's lineup. It should outsell the previous model very handily. I doubt that it will sell more than the MDX but if it did I would not be too surprised either. Lets see what the MDX brings to bat. A better third row with significantly increased FE without affecting the rest of the package and it will continue to be king!

It would have been nice to see this RDX offered with an option for SH-AWD, just to set it apart a little more. Beyond that, it looks great and the sheet metal finally embodies the "urban running back" spirit that they marketed the RDX as having. This is also a rare case where the beak has been an improvement over the original (lack of a) grille. It's a good alternative to the MDX for people who don't need an SUV that large. Can't say that for the original.

I think it represents a great package. One that has me thinking about it as a replacement for wifey's XC70. Just not sure I can get her out of the wagon style of vehicle. If the Crosstour had been an AWD wagon with good looks, it would be an easy decision.

Just saw a black one in my morning commute to work. I was following it and I really like the rear of the car. Well done, Acura. I am very interested in leasing one now.

It's also missing fog lights without the Tech Package. More bean counters.
