Before Acura adds $3000 more to the price to make the ILX more competitive. The TSX in SE editions are easily found under $30K right now.

In white, black, silver or red.
I actually wandered over to the Acura site to check these out, and won't buy one of those four colors.
Vortex blue please.

I was just at a dealership helping a buddy who's shopping for a TSX Tech right now. They quoted him $31,600 (that's about $400 below invoice). They have LOADs of silver, white black and gray ones, but not a single vortex blue and the only red TSX I saw was a wagon. The pricing on the wagons is sweet too - I'm soo tempted but I really don't want to sell my Si, and I would only buy a TSX (Sedan or Wagon) with 6MT and Navi anyhow.
The only thing that sort of interests me about the SE are the suede-like seats. Instead of the body kit I'd rather have an 18" wheel package, sport suspension and also the Tech package. If that were sitting in the showroom right now at this below invoice pricing, I'd be all over it.

I'm curious Jeff what your thoughts are on what the performance version of the ILX would be like if it came with the power train found in your Si.

I find it funny that Honda/Acura still tries to pull that garbage of misinformation... like, there's less wind noise because they used high strength steel. They said that because the real story is they added more insulation, laminated windshield, or even aerodynamics, etc... but that would bring up the question of its Civic roots or failings in other products to adequately insulate the cabin. They never used to play this game in the 90's, that I remember.

Hmm I think they are using more high strength steel (even aluminium hood I believe) in the ILX. However, I don't think those are more for reducing the vehicle weight without sacrificing stiffness.....rather than reducing noise.....

I don't think they ever said there's less windnoise due to high strength steel, and I hope my article didn't give you that impression. But the ILX's strong and lightweight body structure (both of which targets were achieved thanks to the use of high strength steel and aluminum bits), Acura has the freedom to use more sound dampening materials without exceeding weight targets. Even without the added dampening materials, a stiffer body structure itself can improve control of NVH. This is how Acura puts it:
"The rigid body allows for noise and other disturbances to be more efficiently isolated by bushings and other dampers throughout the vehicle."

I do too, but there's going to be a significant increase in msrp to bring the 4 cyl price more in line with the v6.
