At the Bangkok auto show recently.... most likely for ASEAN market. It has a very similar grill treatment with the red 2013 Accord coupe concept.
My common-sense speculation says the North American version may get that too for the 'revised'/MMC model coming this fall. No?

That's the first thing I thought too when I saw the grill. Looks pretty good and I like it better than what we have now but in all honesty they can leave the front alone and make some revisions to the rear.

I like that as shown. I can't tell it the front lip spoiler is moulded in or applied, and I like the substantial side skirts and lower door trim with the chrome inserts. The Modulo wheels appear to be the same as our accessory 17's.

It looks to be fully kitted-out for sure..

+1 on the rear treatment.
Taking cues from 8th's rear end can make it look better.

Kinda old fashioned, imho...

Saw those type of grills a generation or two before the 8th gen Civic...same could be said of the body kit :-(

Not bad.... that front silver plastic on the grill looks a bit tacked on at a closer look, but maybe this is a pre-production model..

Agreed about the rear, though they probably can't do much about the general shape without having to change some sheet metal. They COULD have changed the clear-red coloured glass combination on the tail lights to make it NOT resemble this:

ugh, it looks worse than the current USDM Civic. Hopefully this isn't the hastily pasted together MMC. Whatever the case, they better short track this generation BIG TIME.

I think the front grill works well. Certainly better than the USDM Civic sedan.

What's up with that wheels with the black center cap? Reminds me of Kia wheels. And that spoiler? Didn't help that it's in the weird color I keep seeing on the 2012 Civics. Yes in terms of looks I think is disappointing.

Still looks like crap. That side molding would look much better if it were straight not angled downward. And that greenhouse trim, I guess they can't come up with a more intelligent design. For the sedan EX maybe a little stainless steel trim like the accord would do wonders to remove some of the ultra cheap appearance. Anyway it is still the ultimate FAIL.

While I agree that the add ons do very little for my aesthetic, I think you're are missing the point - this car is aimed at Asian sensabilites which may well be different form yours and mine.

The rear lights don't look too bad in real life [they are the same as the Aussie version] and lends a visual family tie in with the Accord's rear light treatment.

While I could give this body kit the boot, the base car is not as bad as the haters on hear seem to think. Once again, we have a Honda vehicle that is just a detail or two away from being a sharp looking, cohesive design :( When are Honda going to engage a top notch European designer???? :)

I forgot that those are modulo kits and rims. I was given the option for a modulo kit, but they not really interesting and cost too much when I bought my car. The only thing I asked are the wheels, if they are lighter than the original rims. The salesman couldn't answer that for sure, so I didn't get that at all, it all seems stick-on and just something to charge extra $$$$.

The side chrome trim is on the 8th gen Civic for Asia as well, I didn't think they are an issue, but mainly the bodykit and the spoiler I think won't work. If those bodykit are modulo as well, not surprised.

I think that color is a bad choice as a showcar too.

Looks very nice, but wouldn't that give you red reverse lights?

Another option is to switch to the Hybrid's LED taillights. Though I don't find them particularly beautiful... Just different.

At any rate, I personally don't have a problem with the rear. Though yes, my first impression was of the Camry tails, I don't confuse the car for a Camry. I think the rear is simple and clean, and the simple red and clear taillights add to that. On a white car it looks very nice. And nicer still on the Si model:

The front is the larger problem, where boring borders too close to unattractive. But even that can be fixed with just some minor details. Like having real lower side "vents," as shown on the ASEAN model, as opposed to the taped-on plastic of our EX model, for starters. Then a nicer upper grille, preferably without a large slab of blocky chrome.

I think using the hybrid LED tail-lights will work better for the regular Civic, even better than the "old camry" style + extended stripes IMHO. The hybrid can have all-clear cover just like Prius or Fit/Jazz Hybrid.

The car is too high.....I look at my gen8 hybrid and it is low and sleek........the new Civic is higher? and it would look so much better if it was the same wheel gap as the gen8......we had a truck load come in the other day and they looked so good strapped down to the truck.......once hey released the chains and they raised up 4 inches, they looked frumpy.......
