"Precision All Wheel Steer" = "PAWS"?

So is the FWD model going to be as agile as a cheetah running around a curve at 60 mph?

Depends on weight distribution for FWD.
If it is still around 60/40, PAWS may not help much, IMO.

Hopefully, Acura spent some effort on achieving a decent weight distribution (on FWD).

Let's wait and see....

60/40 is considered the "ideal" F/R balance for an FF vehicle. If it gets too much closer to 50/50, launch traction is compromised too much. I am assuming the RLX will be right there in that range, and 60/40 won't at all be a problem for the all-wheel-steering system. In fact, all wheel steering should be a perfect solution to mitigate the inherent understeer of a 60/40 biased FF configuration.

While I agree that 60/40 is good for launch traction on FF platform, would'nt the limited compensatory turning effect, created by PAWS during cornering, be more effective if the amount of understeer created is not too much in the first place, which is possible with better weight distribution, say, something like 57/43, which I assume is possible on a FF platform.

Depends on toe angle that PAWS can assert.
Launching is the bigger issue here, PAWS takes care of understeer.

Has the F/R weight balance always been 60/40 for the RL (and other recent Acura FF models)?

This brings back some fond memories for me of the Acura Legend (1992-1995 editions in particular). 60/40 F/R balance, longitudinal V6 engine, very flat torque curve (with 80-100% of maximum engine torque available from 1000-6300rpm!), very linear horsepower curve (increasing linearly from 1000rpm up to 6300rpm!). Not to mention great styling and nice proportions all around too, in addition to absolutely superb steering feel, nice seats, and nice creature comforts. That was one sweet car. Those were good days!
