You guys are really solid contributors to the topics at hand. What would we do without you? I wish we knew.

I don't see those 'solid contributors' being respected by many. WTF.

Slimmer front pillars are more to do with higher tensile steel - witness gen 7 to gen 8 Accord, current to last Fit, CRV etc. But B and c pillars continue to grow, something women drivers almost always complain about. rear cameras therefore becoming standard. Not that that helps with anything but parking, and that's only half the issue.

Why can't they make some form of "blind spot" camera that takes over your navi when you've hit the left turn / right turn signals kinda like when you go into reverse?
1. It'll teach people to actually use their blinkers
2. It'll reduce accidents
3. It'll be a neat feature to sell in their cars.
I supposed the blind spot info is already in place to this job but it would just be much cooler to turn left turn signal on, and see on the screen an actual camera-feed.
I know I know, costs and expensiveness blah blah blah

Slimming the pillars and making the visibility better is one area where I actually think Honda has been doing a good job compared to the last few years. It is one way they have managed to keep a bit of the old magic alive.
I just looked at a new Si coupe the other day, and it was easier to see out of than the 8th gen Coupe. It felt less like a bunker and less claustrophobic. The 8th gen Accord is the same way compared to the 7th gen IMO.
They CAN make the pillars slimmer, it just needs stronger materials, and they can lower the beltlines, they will just have to figure out how to maintain crashworthiness. Although anecdotally, I heard somewhere that Honda actually started raising the beltline in response to complaints that the customers always felt they were sitting on the floor, and didn't feel as "secure" behind the wheels of Honda cars, due to feeling exposed.
Either way, neither is an excuse for the relatively classic styling of older Honda interiors, when a conventional interior would still suit just fine. MB and BMW interiors are still pretty conventional, and I love them.
