and what they became (Japan and AHMc) in the regionalization process were two separate companies that didn't consult each other much: one with a hybrid fixation and the other run by a Ford exec from the failed Ford years specializing in branding, doing what former Ford execs did prior to Mulally's revisioning of that company...make dull cars for the lowest common denominator.
