Is this the new thing now? I prefer to look at the exhaust tips myself.

one of the spy shots I saw shows one of those feeble little dribblers tucked up under the bumper, like on the CR-Z.

That is an odd decision. Was it the hybrid version?

I think Acura is going for a clean look on their rear ends. Similar to Lexus if the exhaust is not integrated into the bumper they will be tucked under like the CRZ. The RDX will mostly likely get the same treatment, similar to the how the Germans use to do back in the days, get use to it!

I suppose it will take some time to get used to it. However, it would serve to emphasize the exhaust tips when they choose to do a performance version of the car and have them sticking out.

Apparently exhausts are "dirty."

I always get a laugh when i pull up behind a "clean diesel" late-model Volkswagen Jetta or Passat TDI with a very visible black sooty film blooming out across the rear of the vehicle. They shouldn't even build those in light colors.

If you keep a close watch, you may catch an Eos with not only soot, but also a rear bumper that has drawn up around the exhaust outllet from the heat I suppose. I've seen several like this.

I think it would look better with them stocked on top of one another.

LOL too funny! Honestly, I also prefer a visible and integrated exhaust.

I was going to say the same thing! If this car doesn't have the dual exhaust (one of my favorite features on my 04 TSX), something will really be lacking. This would also help distinguish the ILX from the Civic by quite some margin.

You can see the exhaust pretty clearly in the rear 3/4 view of the patent filing photos, just look at the enlarged version. Tucked under the bumper. This is probably the mainstream R20 car. Wonder if the K24 models will at least get a single tailpipe look.

The Tucked under the bumper version should be exclusive to the hybrid only.
