With the pending elimination of the TSX and therefore its wagon variant, it would be nice to see the return of the Accord wagon.
Back to reality: I'd settle for a second generation Crosstour that fixes the flaws of the current version. (Styling, weight, cost, styling, MPG, visibility out the back, styling, limited trim levels, longer roof – for cargo management, etc. Did I mention styling?) I still think the market would really respond to a Honda that competes directly with the Subaru Outback, including having at least one trim level available with a manual transmission. Yeah it may steal some CR-V sales but I suspect it would be a net gain in sales overall.
OK, I admit it. The MT part may be way off in la-la land. But Subaru will sell me an Outback with a 6MT. I'd prefer a Honda “Outback” with a 6MT.

Until then it still looks like my next car will be a Mazda CX-5 with a 6MT.

i agree with you 100%. I really wish there is an accord wagon with good handling, fuel economy and cargo space. This unfortunately is going to be a wishful thinking. The american public just has too little appetite for wagons. The crosstour is just another Honda's dumbass hallucination ideas. it along with BMW tried to create a new segment that nobody wanted- ugly, tall, heavy, poor handling, little space, fuel thirsty pointless cars.
The CX5 should be a great car except it is way underpowered. The diesel turbo version may not get here in another year or two.

Crosstour is a wagon. You have a pick of the CR-V too.

How about a CR-V Si that's lowered a couple of inches with a sport suspension, a 6MT, an LSD and 240 hp? Would have been much cheaper to develop than the Crosstour or even a new Accord wagon.

Now I now I am not the only one dreaming to have something like this:
A 7000+rpm redline inline 4 CR-V with sport suspension ... basically the TSX Wagon with AWD and 6 speed manual. ... even better with the 6th gear being a super tall highway gear.

An Accord wagon would be great!
I like the TSX wagon too.
Hyundai also has a couple of intriguing ideas too
in the i40 & i-oniq. So please dont say wagons & hatches
dont sell!

I suppose the problem with wagons is a lot of people say they want them, but they never show it with their wallets.
I would have been in the market for a decent Honda wagon, but there's was nothing in the lineup at the time. I ended up going with the VW Passat 2.0t Wagon and it has everything I want (space, handling, power, and room), well everything expect reliability. I also shopped the Subaru Legacy, but that was a bit too tight in the cargo area.

I also want a wagon wit a manual. Mazda cx5 is close - a little suv - ish.
Crosstour is not even on my radar. Way overweight, ugly and not practical.
No MT on a CRV and probably not as nimble as an Accord (have not driven the new one).

Honda has never offered a true wagon that was the equal of its sedans. Never! So kinda of hard to jump in with your wallet when they only make half hearted attempts.
TSX wagon - no MT
Accord wagon - no MT on EX (and ABS only on EX - I really wanted to buy this one)
Civic - never had a wagon, just a hatch and wagovan (which was their closest effort - a little ungainly but very utilitarian)
CRV not a wagon and no more MT
Crosstour not a wagon and no MT
If Honda (or anybody else) offers a wagon that is the equal of its sedans, I will buy one. I doubt they will anytime soon. I hope they prove me wrong.
The main problem is that if Honda advertises their wagon, they are afraid that people will realize SUV's are pointless for the vast majority of people and they make more profit on SUV's.

I've owned an Accord EXL wagon 5 MT ('91 I think) and a '04 CR-V LX 5MT. I liked the CR-V but loved the Accord wagon. I would buy a new Accord wagon with a MT in a heartbeat if I could get one.
I also loved my Acura Integra 5 door 5MT (’89 I think). But now that I have kids I'd prefer the room of an Accord wagon.
The CX-5 is appealing to me since it seems to represent another step in the SUV's inevitable evolution back into a wagon. This jives with the reviews that suggest it will drive more like a car/wagon than the current crop of small SUV competition. And it will be available with a 6MT. Not perfect but better than anything else that will be available that I’ve seen.

I remember the Wagovan, but wasn't there a true Civic wagon from 80 to 83?

Yes there was http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1d/Honda_Civic_Estate_Luzern_Kino.jpg
Hope that the TSX Sportswagon survives as its own.
