"Refinement is adequate at high speeds, although not on a par with the best in the class." - this sentence worries me a bit...

Not really. I'm more concerned about power and efficiency, which this seems to deliver in droves.
It's not truly a Honda unless it's a little raw, lol.

hundreds of journalists have "tested" it during the same period but it seems that autoexpress was unencumbered by any form of embargos. Our group of media was specifically asked not to publish our "test results" until next week, after which time ALL of the journalists will have had an equal opportunity to sample the vehicles.

Jeff are you able to reveal which models were available for testing and what technologies they had?
Looks like there was an Insight, Civic Diesel, Accord Diesel, Accord DI and Inspire SH AWD?

We sampled ("tested" implies that we had way more time with the cars than we really had) the following cars/technologies:
1. Accord Inspire that was equipped with the Electric SH-AWD/V6/7dsg drivetrain
2. Accord (TSX) with 1.6 i-DTEC and 6MT
3. Accord (TSX) with 2.4L "earth dreams" + CVT
4. FCX Clarity (nothing new here)
5. Euro Accord with 2.2 180hp i-DTEC, 6MT
6. Euro Civic with 1.6 i-DTEC
7. Fit EV
8. Accord PHEV (plugin hybrid)
9. N box Turbo
10. Fit Shuttle Hybrid
11. Freed Hybrid
12. I think one other car but I will need to refer to my notes...
there were more "normal" cars available to sample but I ran out of time.

I hope there will be Jazz/Fit with 1.6 diesel.

I think that engine is a bit of an overkill for the Fit... but I could be wrong.
I believe Honda will keep the Fit on the efficient gasoline + IMA thing. Diesel over-price is harder on a small cheap car, and the Fit really doesn't need much a 130Hp 300Nm engine...

You are ;)
It might actually make the Jazz move on motorways.
Don't you know we're crazier than Spaniards?

Well, Jazz won't need full power.
Germans would offer 2 versions - tuned for mpg with less than 100hp and another slightly more powerful.
Besides, currently Jazz is 1100kg. 100hp@6000 gasoline engine offered in Europe is anemic - 0-100 for 11.4sec. 5th gen eg8 was able to do 0-100 in 10sec with d15b2... won't even mention what happens with smaller VTEC engine... or what was VTI capable of :P
